An Invitation

This post is by Jess, the queen of average.

Have you ever been invited to do something or participate in something that you never expected? For example, a friend is getting married and you're invited to be there. Or when someone graduates and you're invited to participate in the celebrations. It's so much fun! I love getting invitations.

On the flip side, I also love inviting people to things. Any gathering I have, anyone is invited. Am I bothered when someone turns down my invitation? No. Maybe they are engaged elsewhere, or have a family obligation, or don't want to come. That doesn't bother me, I just like inviting.

Just as I like inviting people to be part the good times that might be taking place on a Friday night, I love inviting people to learn more about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? Why do I like inviting? Because I endlessly enjoy being a member and can't help but want others to feel and experience what I know! Also, there are so many misconceptions about members of the LDS church that I want to get those misconceptions cleared up. And the best way to do that is to ask the missionaries

(Side note: A few years ago I had endless questions about another faith and was asking everyone else but members of their congregation. How unfair of me! So I reached out to their missionaries and had every one of my questions answered! They appreciated that I went to them.)

So this holiday season, I am extending an invitation to you! I would love for you to know more about my faith. And I think the best way to do that is to ask our missionaries. We have TONS of them. (One of which is my very own sister, serving in Germany!) And even ones you can chat with right now online.

Am I asking you to be baptized a member of the church? Nope.
Am I asking you to have questions about our faith? Yes!
Am I asking you to ask those questions? Yes.

Final note: Be open to learning more (because learning is what we're on earth to do). Have a soft heart. Go to God and find out what He wants you to do to be closer to Him. I promise, He'll give you an answer!

Thanks for reading this blog. It has come to mean a lot to me. I hope you've enjoyed hearing stories of people finding peace in their lives. It can also be the same for you, and so, I invite you to learn more.
