I'm Trying to be Like Jesus

This post is by Jess McKenna.

I love that primary song. It gives me the hope that I can keep trying each day. It reminds me that I have an example and pattern to follow.

In this talk by Bruce R. McConkie he states that the highest form of worship is emulation.

I try to emulate who the Savior is and what He would do. I fail miserably sometimes. Ok most of the time. But He still loves me and He stills helps me.

I loved this video the Church recently put out.  It reminds me of the basics of who I need to be and what I need to do.

Ideas on studying Christlike attributes:
Sermon on the Mount (beatitudes)

What Christlike Attribute are you currently studying and trying to cultivate? How are you worshiping the Savior?

  1. Charity is one of my favorites... both receiving the fruits of charity, and trying to return again to others. We are told to pray for charity (Moroni 7:48). I think that a lot of the other Christlike attributes will naturally follow if we truly are blessed with the gift of charity.

Those that are blessed with charity sacrifice for others, even people that they have never met, and they do it because they love. (See 1 Corinthians 13)

And we can worship the Savior by acknowledging his perfect love for us, accepting that miracle, and doing as He asked us in John 13:34-35:
A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

The difficult thing is to remember this invitation from the Savior in ALL aspects of our lives. Is it okay to bash and hate political leaders because we feel they are doing bad things for our country? Is there a better way??? I hope so.
