God took me for who I was and made me into what he needed to be.

This post is from Storie Stinger Johnson, a person who has an incredible amount of energy and zeal for life.

I am an average Mormon. I have been a member my whole life, but I haven't always lived the Mormon lifestyle. I was always searching for that right 'something' that would being me peace and true happiness. I searched for a long time taking roads I am not happy about, sadly what I was search for was already in my life.

I will always be eternally grateful that God never turned His back on me even though I turned my back on him.

I have the peace and happiness I was looking for. Don't get me wrong, life didn't magically get easier once I lived the Mormon lifestyle, and in some events life got EVEN harder. What changed was my ability to reach my goals, fight off temptations, and live the best life increased. God took me for who I was and made into what he needed to be.

I testify that God is always there. Even on those days that suck, or times in your life that are dark and all you feel is loneliness and despair I testify that He has never left your side. He loves you with a love that is infinite and eternal.

I know God lives. I know He will never abandon me. I know he loves me. And even though I am just an average Mormon I know that through His strength I can do all things.

This reminds me of an absolutely amazing talk that Elder Holland once gave. It was a CES fireside given back on September 7th, 2008, titled "Lessons From Liberty Jail". Check it out on the Mormon Channel at YouTube here.

And how true what you said is. But it's like you also said, it's by those experiences that God does help us to realize our divine nature and destiny as His spirit children--making us into who we need to be.
