Doubt Not, Fear Not

This is a post by Rachelle Ormond. Her message is one all of us need to remember!

I would love to share a thought on one of my favorite scriptures, Doctrine and Covenants 6:34-37. While one of my sisters was on her mission, I was going through a difficult trial in my life at the time and I remember asking for her advice at the time. She sent me this scripture. I love the reminder in verse 36 especially, to doubt not and to fear not.

God does not condemn us, but asks us to go forward, repentant, and sin no more. I know that as we strive to keep the covenants we have made with Him, including keeping the commandments, that even when we mess up there is a way back. This way back is through our Savior, Jesus Christ, who suffered all for us so that we might not suffer if we would repent (D&C 19:16). I know our Father in Heaven lives and so does our Savior. I am so grateful to live at a time with the restored Gospel on the earth and to be a member of it. As one of his imperfect children, I am grateful for a loving Heavenly Father who gives us second chances again and again.

Thanks for giving me the chance to share my testimony in a way I never really thought of sharing before.

  1. Awesome, thanks for sharing that! I love how Heavenly Father always uses encouragement instead of discouragement as He helps us to grow and become more like Him. His encouragement and love is what always helps me want to keep on striving to overcome my imperfections. I think that it also helps me better understand who He is and what He is like, which in turn helps me know how to be with others as they struggle with their own challenges too.
